Fame is a wonderfull thing heres, a interivew we did With Mihran this mans doing it all and here Open-World.tv was able two have him do a Q&A us Q, you moved from Yerevan Armenia at an early age do you miss it? A, I do. However, I was really young when I moved here and I didnt remember much. I do visit Armenia from time to time and every time its a great experience. Q, How did you hang at the age of seven being in California USA at first was it hard to adjust? A, Yes it was. I guess it must be for everyone who moves to another country. It is like a whole new world. Since I was seven, however, I adjusted quickly to the American culture. It also helped having Armenian students in class that I could relate to. Q, What did you start doing first rapping or dancing? A, I started dancing since I was a child. I started by looking up to amazing artists such as Michael Jackson. He is still one of my favorite artists of all time. My dad was a known dancer in Armenia. Just like me he traveled around the world. I guess you can say I followed in his footsteps. Rapping came after dancing as I discovered my goals and ambitions in life. I love performing, writing, choreographing my performances and music myself. I am a perfectionist and I guess that helps me stay in charge. Q I read that you where on Reno 911 and the movie you got served. What did you like doing more TV or movies? A, Acting is not something I have invested so much time in. When ever a good opportunity comes along I take it. I do, however, would like to get more into acting when tour is over. I love doing commercials because they are fun and dont take a whole lot of time to shoot. Q, Where do you find your drive to keep you going? A, Believe it or not, dancers really work hard. It is a competitive field to be in. I am just lucky I met people such as Jamie King and Madonna, who trust me enough to keep on working with me. There are times where it gets tiring but the audience is what keeps me going. I love the vibe we get on stage. Its an amazing feeling. Like a natural high. I would also say my family. I have the most amazing family. They have been by my side supporting every decision I have made in life. It helps to know that they are there whenever I feel I need some support. Q, Besides, Madonna and Britney spears have you worked with any other artiest? A, Yes, Lil Kim, Kylie Minogue, Pink, Carmen Electra. Q, What was it like the first time you tried out for Madonna? A, It was nerve racking. I was very nervous because there were hundreds and hundreds of talented dancers there. The auditions took days. I was confident though. I was also one of the youngest there at the time and that is another reason why I was surprised that I was picked. Q, This is your second tour with Madonna since you already toured with her before did you have to try out this time around or did they just call you and say Madonnas touring again lets go? A, Well, I had worked with her during the year and a half when she was off so we kept in touch that way. When she decided to do another tour she just kept most of the same dancers from her promo tour. So, no I didnt have to audition because she already knew what I am about, lol. Q, In your Song put your glass up in the beginning is that Isick from the Madonna tour? A. Lol, no its a good friend of mine. I met Isick during the tour. Q, track 13 if It, my time you did a remix of your song Playin me with the neptunes how did you get them to work with you on your first cd? A, Thats a remix. Its one of Mases old tracks I just took the beat and we made a remix to it. Q, You put out a great hip-hop cd with head bobin beats, would you ever put out an R&B or pop Album? A, Pop album, no. Only because it is really far from my style. R & B, yes. As a matter of fact, in my new album I have recorded a couple of R&B songs. One of which I am very impressed with. I recoded the song in Armenia with an Armenian singer who sings in Armenian while I rap in English. The end product came out great. Better than I anticipated. Q, In the single cover of Madonnas new single get together and the most of the crew is posing on it thats cool how did that cover for get together happened? A, It is actually really funny. They used a picture of us hanging out in an empty jacuzzi and edited it. The picture is really of everyone crammed into the empty jacuzzi. Q, in your song if ur boy only knew you talk about taking other guys chicks, is this something you do as a hobby? A, Lol, no just a song and how I felt at the moment when I wrote it. Many things go on in my life or someone close to me which might inspire me to write. No I dont have time going around and taking other guys chicks. |

Lifting Expectations Angel Muñoz May Be the Buffest Guy in the Gym, Even if He's In a Wheel Chair By Elizabeth Gonzalez Twenty-three year old Angel Muñoz is not the person you think of when you hear the word bodybuilder. That's because he is partially blind and is in a wheelchair. Angel reveals, We don't do what we want, we do what we can. I walked into the San José City College weight room to meet the soft-spoken young athlete who preferred we talk in Spanish. Wearing a black tank and a baseball cap, Angel was sitting at one of the machines. I also met his mother, Maria, who was working out on other equipment in the room. Angel was born in Santa Clara with spinabifida and had several operations as a child, including one to insert a valve that ran from his head to his stomach. His legs were weak as an infant, but at the age of two he was able to walk with the help of physical therapy. At the age of five his family moved to Mexico where his father had bought a ranch in the state of Jalisco. He began to have problems with the valve that was inserted when he was a baby, he got an infection and during one operation his optical nerves were damaged and he partly lost his sight. That's when he and his mother decided to return to the U.S. because Angel was then scared of having any more operations. They also thought they could receive more help being here and so at 18 years old he and his mother returned to San José with the intention of only staying a year. After about a year of therapy, doctors told him that if he still had hopes of walking one day he had to loose weight. Angel decided to enroll at San José City College to take a few courses and exercise in the weight room. The Beginnings of a Body Builder Angel says he started bodybuilding as an accident and only with the help of two specific people. Last year, Hawk, a P.E. aid for 8 years, and now Angel's trainer, mentioned that he should compete in the bodybuilding competition at the school. He saw Angel working out in the weight room and thought he could represent the college in the wheelchair division. Angel thought the event involved swimming or a race of some kind. A few days later Hawk told him he had to train his body. Angel was surprised, but said he couldn't back out because he had already agreed to do it. He began training in September 2004 and had two months before the competition. When he told his family he was going into bodybuilding they were happy for him, but he really didn't believe he would continue with training. He didn't see bodybuilding in his future. The day of the competition Angel remembers being very nervous. He thought the competition was very imbalanced, pairing him with a man 20 years older and much bigger than himself. Hawk is a former bodybuilder himself and has experience in running shows behind the scenes. He explains that there are no weight classes in the wheelchair division competitions. He says that judges look at symmetry, definition, plus density when judging the wheelchair competitions. In some ways that makes it much harder. When Angel took second place he was very excited and happy hearing the applause of the audience. He loved the rush that he experienced. Over the last year he has trained and participated in a total of four competitions. Pushing Up Inspiration Currently he is studying English and taking a swimming class and says he hangs out with friends and family like everyone else. He works out in the weight room at San Jose City College with lots of other students, but says they don't say anything directly to him. His coaches, though, say he is an inspiration. They tell him that other students say that if he can do it, then they can too. When he does lifts, everyone is looking at him - not feeling sorry, it's respect. He can do a lot more than other guys and his personality is a plus, Hawk says proudly. His trainer, Hawk, says he almost wouldn't have made it because there was a fierce resistance to Angel's participation in the sport. Hawk faced trouble from the Adaptive P.E. specialist who didn't want to work with Angel saying he could get hurt and needed a doctor's release. To make things worse, they suggested Hawk approach Gold's Gym to give Angel a free membership to train for the competition, when Angel lives minutes from the campus and is able to wheel himself there. Hawk could not believe that Angel was being prevented from representing his college at a competition held on campus. That's when Hawk went to someone higher up. He approached the Dean of Special Programs, Zeke Garcia, about the problem as well as long time college baseball coach, Coach Woodhead. The two stepped in and signed Angel up for one of his classes so that he could legitimately use the weight room to work out. Coach Woodhead has been a coach at San Jose City for 20 years, leading one of the top baseball teams in the state, and is now a P.E. instructor after a stroke left him in a wheelchair. He says it is not hard to be supportive of Angel at all. He's a great kid with great work ethic. He's gone through hell with all the operations and probably more coming up, but he never lets it get in his way of what he wants to do, says the supportive coach. Thanks to especially Coach, Hawk says, Angel was able to compete in his very first show. Angel's mom, Maria, says that bodybuilding has changed her son for the better. Now instead of being very serious, he is happier and more sociable. Maria says Angel has hopes of going forward with this, but they have had financial difficulties. His biggest hope is to compete in the wheelchair divisions of the Amateur Bodybuilding Association, which hold 3 levels of competition from USA, to Universe, and Olympia. But that dream is on hold for now because Angel is taking a break because of his most recent operation and it is difficult for them to continue to go out to competitions without financial backing. Right now, his trainer Hawk is searching for sponsors so that Angel can continue his new found hobby and compete in bigger shows that want him there, like being a part of Team USA and Natural Universe. For others in his situation, Angel says, We can do things one way or another in spite of our handicaps. There are no limitations on anything. It doesn't matter if you're disabled. If you want, you can do everything. |

ODM ON LINE! YES ODM OF LIGHTER SHADE OF BROWN IS ON MY SPACE AND WE FOUND HIM ASKED HIM FOR A INTERVEW AND HE SAID YES SO A EMAILED HIM A Q&A LIST AND NOW ITS ON OPEN-WORLD.TV THIS IS AN EXCLUSIVE! ODM. HOW DID YOU GUYS, COME UP WITH THE NAME " LIGHTER SHADE OF BROWN"? ODMS, A"Our first manager actually came up with it. He got the idea from an older 60's rock song "Whiter shade of pale" real shit! HOW DID YOU AND DTTX MEET AND HOW LONG AFTER WAS LSOB WAS BORN? ODMSA: Met while I was still in High School in 89'. We were actually joined together by our same manager at the time. We started doing demos and in a year or so landed a record deal. EVERY ALBUM OF LSOB LIGHTER SHADE OF BROWN IS A GREAT POSEIVE MUSIC THE LAST LSOB ALBUM " IF YOU COULD SEE IN SIDE OF ME" WAS A BIT GANSTER WHY THE CHANGE OF STYLE? ODMS, A: LSOB had been going through some changes in time due to personal changes in our lives. Management dealings, record label changes, and so forth. We adapt to any style, whatever the market calls for. That makes a true lyricist. RUMMER HAS IT THAT ONE OF LSOBS, PROBLEMS WAS THERE WAS TO MUCH PARTYING GOING ON AND YOUR ROOMS U STAYED IN WHEN YOU WHERE ON TOUR WAS LEFT PRETTY BAD IS THAT TRUE AND IF SO WHAT WAS THE CRAZEST STORY YOU HAVE WHEN YOU WHERE ON THE ROAD ON TOUR? ODM,S A:Rumor is somewhat true ( although I won't admit to anything haha). You know that artists will be artists and sometimes when politics get in the way sometimes things don't always work out our way. I feel it's more of an inside matter then partying so to speak. As I mentioned earlier, Management disputes. WHATS, UP WITH GREEN SIDE RECORDS? LAST YEAR IN OKLAND I SAW THE PLACE WITH THE LOGO ON THE BUILDING BUT INSIDE THERE A SALON IN THE NOW? ODM,S A: Haven't spoke to the guys who ran that label in a while. ???? WHY DID LIGHTER SHADE BRACKE UP? ODM,S A:LSOB never really officially "broke up" we are just on a high aides type of situation. RUMMER HAS IT THAT YOU AND DTTX CAN;T STAND EACH OTHER YOU GUY ARE ALWAYS FIGHTING ON THE ROAD . ODMS,A:There are a lot of problems within groups so that I would say is true. Being involved in a group for so many years becomes a marriage!! Ups and downs. IN 2005 YOU PUT OUT A CD " CLOSER" IS THERE ANY VIDEOS OFF THAT ABLUM WHY IS THERE NO NOTICE OF CLOSER ON UR WEB SITE? ODM,S A:The album Closer was a re released album that was bought off me (Brown Royal Records) sometime ago. That information would be found on Low Profile Records website. YOUR NEW SINGLE PALATERO MAN IS NOW GETTING SOME AIR TIME ON THE MAIN STREM RADIO STIAON, IN THE BAY IS THERE A NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS FROM ODM? ODM,S A:hahaha man the song was just a music parody that took off!! I never had any intentions to make a career out of parodys. But to answer the question, you'll have to wait and see. IN 2006 IS THERE ANY CHANCE ON A ODM TOUR? ODM,S A:Slim chance IS THERE ANY NEW PROJECTS, THAT U HAVE COMING OUT WITH IN O6? ODM,S A: I am working on something totally on the opposite side of music. I have a cartoon in the works which features "Memo" (paletero man song) who will be 1 of the characters. I'm real excited to get this going. THIS PART OF THE INTERVIEW IM GOING TO DROP NAMES OF PEEPS, YOU HAVE OF MIGHT OF WORKED WITH OR MIGHT HAVE CAME CLOSE TO WORKING WITH.
